December's Lesson

Over the next several months while Rosemary has such a busy schedule, is on tour etc, Samantha will be collaborating with her on writing the lessons for the month. Rosemary is very much a part of the process, but not always able to sit at a computer and write. Since Samantha has grown up with the teachings of Rosemary, we hope you'll agree that she's the ideal candidate to collaborate with her mother in order to bring you a lesson every month.

Rosemary will be posting lesson as regularly as she can-but due to ill health occassionally she will miss a month here and there. Please bear with us if this should happen! However, enjoy this lesson and don't forget to visit our archives for many, many other lessons from Rosemary.

Over the last few months I have been at the mercy of the American health system, visiting clinics, filling in forms, dealing with the insurance company and then, after that, trying to get well. I have also been in situations where, as sick as I was, there were many others much worse off than me.

Over the last few months I have been at the mercy of the American health system, visiting clinics, filling in forms, dealing with the insurance company and then, after that, trying to get well. I have also been in situations where, as sick as I was, there were many others much worse off than me.

I saw a woman undergoing treatment for cancer, her three daughters around her, obviously scared, as their mother’s prognosis was not good, and they knew it was only a matter of time before they lost her.

I saw a young man waiting with his seven-year old son, in a renal clinic, hoping for good news about his kidney failure. I saw an old man, barely able to walk, barely able to sit, waiting for his doctor to give him the bad news about his illness he knew was coming. And I saw so much more!

In October I collapsed, the ambulance was called, and I was taken to hospital. There were three friends with me. One was a friend from England, who I had been staying with, and two were friends who were visiting from the states. They were fantastic, responding to the emergency in absolutely the right way. Taking care of me, dealing appropriately with the situation, with the ambulance men, with the nurses and doctors, and making me feel as safe as I could be under the circumstances. They behaved just as hope I would under similar circumstances, and just as I hope all my students would…which was good, as two were my student healers, and one had been working with me and had trained with me as a healer more than fifteen years ago.
I was grateful on several counts:

I) I had good friends around me in my emergency.
II) I was in England, and there were no forms to fill in, no payments to be made for the ambulance, the treatment, the hospital, or any medical bills.
III) I was not stressed out about how I was going to pay, or if I was going to be accepted by the hospital or the doctors in whose care I was.
IV) I was grateful that my daughter could not see the pain I was in.
V) I was grateful that Grey Eagle was there to help me.
VI) I had knowledge of self-healing.
VII) I had healers, my students, who were all sending me the healing I so badly needed.

What happened to me can happen to anyone, does happen to people all of the time. We never know what God has in store for us…we never know when we are going to need our friends…we never know when we are going to need a healer.

As I have been doing the rounds of hospitals and clinics, I have also been doing the rounds as a healer. Even though most of the people I have given healing to have been unaware of what I’ve been doing, as a healer, and even though I have been sick, giving healing comes as naturally to me as breathing. And I believe that giving healing come naturally to all of us. We just have to believe!

When difficult situations happen in our lives, we have choices. We can choose to become a victim, or we can choose to become a healer. I choose to be a healer. To heal myself, first by striving to see the positives of the situation, by making a list of the things I am grateful for, then by paying attention to those worse off than me, and asking God to send them healing, and by reminding myself often that everyone can be a healer if they can just believe they are.

Your exercises this month:
1) Make a list of the people you know who are sick or who are in a distressful situation. If this applies to you, place you name on that list also.
2) Keep a check on how many times in a day you think loving or healing thoughts about the people on your list and how you can consciously send those thoughts out to each person, including yourself.
3) Make a list of all the reasons you have to be grateful. Ask yourself this question. Am I a victim or am I a healer? Ask yourself this question as many times in a day as you can. If you work on doing these three simple exercises each day your healing will become as natural to you as breathing. Sometimes only time can solve a problem or heal an illness. That doesn’t mean we are helpless, just the opposite…if we believe we can breathe, and if we believe we can heal, then we can.

believe we can be…
I believe that I can be…
I believe that you can be....
