November's Lesson

Over the next several months while Rosemary has such a busy schedule, is on tour etc, Samantha will be collaborating with her on writing the lessons for the month. Rosemary is very much a part of the process, but not always able to sit at a computer and write. Since Samantha has grown up with the teachings of Rosemary, we hope you'll agree that she's the ideal candidate to collaborate with her mother in order to bring you a lesson every month.

Thanksgiving...

At this time last year we thought about thanksgiving and what it meant for the American people. Now this year, when writing this month's lesson, we thought it might be a good lesson to think about the way the rest of the world gives thanks. In many religions people take food to the temples.for example, in England many of the churches celebrate the harvest by making up food packages for people living on their own people and unable to afford such things at this time of year. We call it the "Harvest Festival".

At this time last year we thought about thanksgiving and what it meant for the American people. Now this year, when writing this month’s lesson, we thought it might be a good lesson to think about the way the rest of the world gives thanks. In many religions people take food to the temples…for example, in England many of the churches celebrate the harvest by making up food packages for people living on their own people and unable to afford such things at this time of year. We call it the “Harvest Festival”.

Additionally, many organizations take the opportunity at this time coming up to Christmas and the holidays to make parcels and packages for those in need. But no matter what we do, all of us who are willing and able to make donations and to give in our different ways, whether it's just once a year, or all the year through, we still cannot do enough to ease the pain and suffering of every person who needs our help.

So what can we do?

Is there anything more? In our healing organization we have a prayer book and in this book are the names of all those people who have requested healing of one sort or another. Everyday each member of our organization sends out a prayer to god for all of those people who are in this book. We call this absent or distant healing. Does it work? The answer to that question is yes it does. How does it work? The answer is simple. Once again it's all about energy. Every thought is a tiny pulse of energy which goes out into the universe, reaching the person that the thought is about. So if we are sending a prayer, a thought, a healing thought to Mary Smith, for example, that thought, that energy goes out to her. She in turn absorbs that energy and a small amount of healing takes place. Then that energy will ultimately return to its source but on its way back it is growing and absorbing more and more energy, the same kind of energy, as like attracts like. So when that thought, that prayer, that energy returns to you it is more than twice what you have sent out. In this way we can all give on a daily basis. We can give to our loved ones, we can give to our friends, and we can give to strangers around the world, doing our small part to heal.

The exercise this month
1) Think about who in your world you would like to send healing to?

2) Who in the world of those around you, your friends, your neighbors, the families of your work mates, who in another's world would you like to send healing to?

3) Who are the people out in the far reaches of this world, people you have heard of, but never met, who of those would you like to send healing to?

4) Now make your own prayer book. Enter all the names that are on the lists that you have just made, make sure that there is room in the prayer book to add more names because as you begin this project, and as you hopefully continue with this project you will find your list growing, and growing and growing. Now your prayer book is done and you have your names. Now take ten minutes of every day to send out a prayer for all the people in your own personal healing book

At the end of the first week take a moment to think about how you are feeling.

Ask yourself these questions.

Do I feel happier?
Do I feel more productive?
Do I feel that I am receiving healing, too?
The answers to all three questions should be yes, for remember, energy always returns to its source.

In giving healing to others you've given healing to yourself. In making your own prayer book you are giving to others and giving to the world on a daily basis at no cost, other than your ten minutes of giving your energy a day.

This is thanksgiving every day of the year, no matter what race, creed, religion or denomination!
