It was a delivery man who inspired me to write this lesson.
Disgruntled and unhappy in his work, complaining that he had, had to deliver an awkward and heavy object he complained that, "everybody lies.nobody tells the truth."
Having been at the mercy of builders who never come when they say they will, workmen who just didn't show up at all, and contractors breaking contracts, I felt inclined to agree with him, and found myself utterly drawn into that negative whirlpool of energy we all find ourselves in from time to time, when everything in our lives seems to be going wrong. My day ended with computer glitches, the fax machine breaking down, and then the freezer dying a very noisy and very messy death!
"Is it Friday the 13th?" my friend who had been staying with me asked. I didn't answer, couldn't answer...it seemed to be the last straw, my sense of humor, which never fails me.failed me.
I went to bed in a subdued mood, hoping to get to sleep quickly, so I didn't have to think too much. In the cold light of the following morning, my common sense returned.
Of course not everybody lies, why would I even think such a thing? And what was it that drew me in, what was it that caused me to be so negative? So, I have problems, but none that can't be resolved with time. I'm not sick, I have my health and my sanity.so then, I have to ask myself, what is wrong with me?? The answer comes back at me easily.my thinking.I have allowed that negative side of my nature to overwhelm and to overpower me.
Now it's time to stop.
It happens to us all, some more so than others. So here is the lesson for the month:
1) Make a list of those times you have a tendency to be negative, or to be drawn into other people's negative actions and reactions.
2) Make a list of those times in your life when you were in a negative situation that you thought would never be resolved, and yet it was.
3) Make a list of those actions you can take in those awful negative moments that will help to improve and inspire your positive thinking.
4) Here are some examples:
a) Find an activity that you would ordinarily love to do, if you weren't feeling so down.AND DO IT.
b) Make a list of all the good and positive things that are going on in your life. Give each point a star, and count how many stars you have each day to be thankful for.
c) Work on your visualization techniques for at least 15 minutes every day, and visualize your life as you would like it to be, as you would like YOU to be. HOLD THAT IMAGE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
All of these things are a way of sending out positive energy, creating positive energy within you. They may not necessarily change your situation, but they will definitely change the way you handle things, and will improve your quality of life tremendously.
I have now given you three examples of actions we can take to help ourselves. There are many other ways.
5) Make your list and share it with the rest of us. Post it in the community.whatever it takes.
LET'S GET SOME REALLY POSITIVE AND INSPIRING ENERGY GOING ON HERE. I'M WAITING TO SEE WHAT YOU POST.
Talk with community members about your thoughts on this month's lesson, or write us an account of your progress. We'd love to post it in our spotlight section for everyone to read.
